Dastarkhwan

Overview

Dastarkhwan ("the App") is a meal planning app published by Nector Labs. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and your choices. Dastarkhwan is designed to work without an account — your household details, saved recipes, weekly meal plan, cooking history, and pantry list are stored only on your device. The only external services the App talks to are our own read-only recipe catalog and Google AdMob, which serves the in-app ads that keep Dastarkhwan free.

This addendum applies specifically to Dastarkhwan and should be read with the main Nector Labs Privacy Policy.

Data collection

The App does not require sign-up or login, and we do not operate user accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contact list, and we do not access your location, camera, photos, or contacts. We do not use any analytics or crash-reporting service — no usage data about how you use the App is sent to us.

Through Google AdMob, the following is collected by Google to serve and measure ads (see Advertising below):

• Advertising ID
• IP address
• General device information
• Ad interaction data

Local storage

To personalize your experience, the App stores the following locally on your device, and this information is never transmitted to us:

• Household details you enter in Settings (number of adults/kids, cooking goals, frequency)
• Food preferences (cuisines, dietary restrictions, disliked ingredients, spice level, cook-time limits)
• Pantry items you mark as available
• Recipes you like or skip while browsing
• Your generated weekly meal plan
• Your cooking history

This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data in your device settings, permanently deletes it. We have no way to access, recover, or delete it on your behalf, because we never received it.

The App also fetches publicly available recipe content (names, ingredients, steps, nutrition info, images) from our backend service. These requests do not include any personal information or device identifiers.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share any personal data with third parties, because we do not collect or hold any ourselves — the only third party involved is Google AdMob, acting as an independent ad service under its own privacy policy.

If we ever add crash/reliability diagnostics in the future, this policy and the Play Store Data Safety form will be updated before that change ships.

Advertising

The App shows ads served by Google AdMob to support free access to the App. Ads are configured with a general (G-rated) content rating.

For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, the App presents a consent form before loading any ads, in line with Google AdMob program policies, and ads are only requested once the necessary consent is given.

You can review or reset your Advertising ID at any time through your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Reset advertising ID" / "Delete advertising ID").

Children

Dastarkhwan is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content is restricted to a general (G-rated) rating.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
