QR Code Scanner & Generator
Privacy addendum for the Android app. Last updated June 2026.
Overview
QR Code Scanner & Generator is published by Nector Labs. The app is designed to scan QR codes and barcodes, generate QR codes, save local history, and share results when you choose to do so.
This addendum applies specifically to QR Code Scanner & Generator and should be read with the main Nector Labs Privacy Policy.
Data collection
Version 1 does not require an account. Nector Labs does not collect your scanned QR code contents, generated QR code contents, barcode values, Wi-Fi network names, or scan history through the app.
The app does show third-party ads through Google AdMob, which collects your Advertising ID and related device data — see the Advertising section below.
The app may use platform-provided diagnostics in the future to understand crashes and reliability. If that changes, this page and the Play Store Data Safety form will be updated before release.
Camera permission
The camera is used only to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed on device for decoding and are not uploaded to Nector Labs servers.
History
If scan or generated-code history is enabled, entries are stored locally on your device so you can revisit, copy, share, or delete them. Clearing app data or deleting history removes those local entries from the device.
Sharing
When you tap copy, share, open, or look up, the selected result may be passed to Android, your browser, or another app you choose. Those third-party apps handle the data according to their own policies.
Advertising
QR Code Scanner & Generator displays ads provided by Google AdMob to keep the app free. To serve ads, Google's advertising SDK may collect and process certain information from your device, including your device advertising identifier (Advertising ID), IP address, general device information, and ad interaction data. This information is collected and used by Google, not stored on Nector Labs servers, and is used to deliver and measure ads, cap how often you see the same ad, and detect invalid or fraudulent activity.
Where required by law (for example, for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), the app presents a consent choice on first launch before any personalized advertising data is used. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time from within the app or your device's ad settings, and you can reset or limit your Advertising ID through your Android device settings.
Google's use of advertising data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, for partners, the Google AdMob program policies. The app does not use scanned QR code contents, barcode values, or generated codes for advertising.
Children
QR Code Scanner & Generator is not directed to children under 13, and Nector Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through this app.
